What is quality inspection

In a broad sense, quality inspection and testing means that quality inspection and testing institutions accept the entrustment of product manufacturers or product users, comprehensively use scientific methods and professional technology to carry out quality inspection and testing on the quality, safety, performance, environmental protection and other aspects of a product, and issue quality inspection and testing reports, so as to evaluate whether the product meets the requirements of the government Standards for quality, safety, performance and regulations required by industry and users. The quality inspection and testing institution shall collect testing fees from the client according to the testing workload.

The methods of quality inspection can be classified according to different marks.

Pre-Production Inspection (PPI)

It is to inspect raw materials or components before production to verify whether the quality specifications of materials or components are met. Early in the production process, if the specifications are not met, this inspection can help minimize wasted time, material costs and delayed delivery.

Initial Production Inspection (IPI)

It is carried out at about 10% of the product completion stage to review the product quality requirements before starting mass production. It is allowed to correct any nonconformities found in time and take improvement measures before starting mass production.

During Production Inspection (DPI)

It is carried out at the stage when 20% - 80% of the goods are completed and more than 20% of the export cartons are packed. This inspection verifies that the initial production process has been maintained and that the goods being produced continue to meet the quality requirements. In case of new raw materials, new operators, production lines or specification changes, the service can evaluate whether the requirements are met in the production process.

Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI)

It is carried out before shipment (100% production is completed and at least 80% is packed in cartons) to evaluate whether the final product meets all quality specifications (i.e. color, process, dimensional measurement, label, function, suitability, product packaging, etc.), And can be shipped immediately. The purpose of this inspection is to identify any quality defects that will prevent the shipment of nonconforming products.
